SUMMER PHOTOGRAPHY TASK: gig photos

This is a good image to use because it is clear and easy to see the main singer so the audience can regconise them. Also the image focuses on the main star because there is nothing in the background that will make the audiences attention look at something else, this means that the picture will be easy to use for a magazine because it can be cropped without cutting off any key images in the background. The image is a mid-shot because you can see from the waist up, this shows the singers facial expression and clothing more clearly. My music magazine will be rock music so the image will fit into this genre because the drums can be seen in the background and the main singer's iconography can be seen with his tattoos which are usually represented with rock musicians. However the singer shows a layed back atmosphere because of the beer in his hand which shows it is a small gig that he is enjoying. Rock gigs are usually in small venues where it is all standing.

This image is a long shot of the stage which focuses more on the atmosphere of the crowd than the actual band that is playing. However the band can be seen in the background as the logo of a skull and cross bones can be seen and the word 'GASLIGHT' can be seen behind the lights. This image shows the confined space in the venue and everyone standing up, this relates to the genre of rock music because The Gaslight Anthem are a rock band but it can be seen because of the crowed conditions. The skull and crossbones logo shows that it links the iconography of a rock band and shows a rebellious attitude that would link to a rock band. This image can be used in my magazine for a photo gallery of different gig pictures that shows the different crowds and atmosphere.
