GENRE: A category of artistic composition as in music or literature, characterized by similarity in form style or subject matter. The magazines below show the genres pop, indie and heavy metal.
SUB-GENRE: A subcategory within a particular genre. The images below show the sub-genres punk rock, hip-hop/rap and indie pop.
HYBRID GENRE: Refers to a combination of two or more stylistic themed categories as it blends themes and elements from different genres. For example these magazines show music and fashion and music and gossip.
